The system captures real-time images of garbage bags through the camera, and the AI algorithm analyses colour features, brightness, and morphology to quickly classify white, black, red, and other coloured garbage bags. Upon completion of recognition, signals can be directly output to the automatic sorting robotic arm or management system, enabling automatic categorisation of garbage bags by colour.

The OpenMV intelligent camera features high sensitivity, low power consumption, and a compact size, supporting edge deployment for long-term stable operation at community waste collection points, park environmental stations, or industrial waste processing lines. The system supports custom model training, enabling optimised recognition of waste bags under varying materials, lighting conditions, or mixed backgrounds to ensure classification accuracy.
