Fatigue driving poses a significant risk to road safety. To address this, SingTown Technology has introduced an intelligent fatigue driving detection solution. Utilising its OpenMV platform and AI smart cameras, combined with machine vision and computer vision technologies, the solution achieves precise monitoring of drivers' eye closure states, thereby preventing accidents.
The system uses cameras to capture the driver's facial images, with AI algorithms analysing the morphology, brightness, and closure of the eye area in real time to determine blink frequency and prolonged eye closure duration. Upon detecting abnormal eye closure or fatigue signals, the system can immediately trigger auditory, visual, or vibrational alerts to remind the driver to rest or refocus attention.
The OpenMV intelligent camera boasts low power consumption, a compact design, and a high frame rate. Its edge deployment capability allows the system to be integrated into vehicle monitoring systems, cockpits, or assisted driving devices, facilitating all-weather real-time monitoring without dependence on cloud services. Detection remains unaffected even with unstable or lost signals. The algorithm exhibits robustness against changes in lighting, glare from spectacles, or varying facial angles, ensuring reliable recognition in complex driving conditions.
