In public beaches and outdoor environments, timely detection of plastic waste such as water bottles is a crucial aspect of environmental protection and cleanliness management. However, relying solely on traditional manual inspections is inefficient and prone to overlooking small debris. To address this, SingTown Technology has introduced an AI smart camera solution based on the OpenMV platform, which utilises machine vision and computer vision technologies to achieve high-precision automatic recognition of water bottles on beaches.
The system captures real-time beach images through cameras, and AI algorithms analyse the target's shape, colour, and texture features to accurately identify plastic water bottles, mineral water bottles, and other similar containers. The image recognition technology can handle light reflections, sand occlusion, and complex background interference, ensuring stable and reliable detection results.
The recognition results can directly trigger the cleaning robotic arm or provide visual monitoring data, enabling a rapid response and automated cleaning. The OpenMV smart camera features low power consumption, a compact size, and a high frame rate, offering the advantage of edge deployment. It can be flexibly integrated into unmanned inspection robots, fixed monitoring points, or mobile cleaning platforms, achieving round-the-clock real-time monitoring without relying on cloud services or external computers.
