Precision electronics manufacturer establishes a macro inspection system based on SingTown Technology's OpenMV smart camera, enabling real-time integrity detection and defect warning for pin arrays.
The camera is positioned approximately 10 centimetres from the pins under test. The system illuminates the pin array using high-brightness LED fill lighting and captures images. It then employs a combination of brightness detection, edge recognition, and greyscale segmentation algorithms to determine whether the pins are intact. When a broken or sunken pin is detected, a distinct area of brightness loss appears in the image. The system can then identify the anomaly and output an alarm signal.
This solution demonstrates exceptionally high sensitivity and stability in real-time detection, effectively distinguishing between "normal bright pins" and "broken or sunken pins without brightness" states.
Utilising the edge-side AI processing capability of the OpenMV smart camera, high-speed recognition and signal output can be achieved without the need for an external computer.
Embedded vision systems are suitable for product inspection scenarios such as probe cards, terminal pins, and precision pins.
