GithubWith the increasing prominence of issues such as cervical spondylosis and lumbar fatigue caused by sedentary office work, healthy and intelligent office practices have become a new industry trend. Traditional height-adjustable desks often rely on manual or timed adjustments, failing to perceive the user's actual posture and sedentary state, with limited reminder methods. To address this, smart office equipment manufacturers have adopted SingTown Technology's OpenMV smart camera to develop a machine vision-based intelligent desk system.
This system utilises AI image recognition and human pose detection technology to monitor users' sitting posture at their desks in real time. When poor postures such as slouching, hunching, or leaning to one side are detected, the system automatically issues a reminder.
Simultaneously, when the user remains seated for longer than the set duration (e.g., 45 minutes), the system will automatically activate the electric lifting mechanism to gradually raise the desktop, guiding the user into a standing work mode, thereby effectively reducing the health risks associated with prolonged sitting.
This solution requires precise identification, rapid response, and smooth control, adapting to various office environments and individual differences.

The intelligent office equipment manufacturer has developed a smart desk posture detection system based on SingTown Technology's OpenMV intelligent camera. By integrating AI image recognition, human pose estimation, behaviour analysis, and automatic height adjustment control technologies, it provides an intelligent health management solution for office environments.
The system secures the OpenMV camera above or in front of the desk, using a wide-angle lens to capture real-time images of the user's sitting posture.
AI algorithms determine changes in head, shoulder, and spine posture by identifying key points and calculating geometric angles, assessing whether the user is sitting upright, slouching, or leaning forward.
When poor posture is detected, the system alerts the user to adjust promptly via a buzzer, voice announcement, or desktop indicator light.
The system can also autonomously assist sedentary users in transitioning to standing work: the built-in sedentary detection logic calculates the user's continuous sitting duration. Upon exceeding the set time, it automatically sends a control signal to the lifting motor, gradually raising the desk to standing height and prompting the user to stand up and move around.
Leveraging SingTown Technology's OpenMV features of automatic exposure compensation, real-time recognition, and low-power operation, the system can operate stably under varying lighting and body size conditions.
Test results indicate that the system achieves an attitude detection accuracy exceeding 96% within a distance of 0.6 metres, a lifting response time of less than one second, and a sedentary reminder error of under three minutes.
This solution, built upon SingTown Technology's OpenMV intelligent camera, is widely applicable in areas such as smart office desks, corporate health management systems, and remote work equipment. It enables AI machine vision to genuinely empower occupational health management, providing professionals with a scientific and intelligent healthy office experience.
