GithubIn precision industrial inspection scenarios, the detection of crossover points in cable braiding layers or conductive mesh sleeves is a critical aspect of quality control. Traditional manual inspection methods are inefficient and prone to high error rates, making it difficult to meet the real-time accuracy demands of high-speed production lines. To address this challenge, industrial manufacturing enterprises have adopted SingTown
The SingTown OpenMV intelligent camera recognition technology utilises machine vision and AI image recognition algorithms to accurately identify the spatial coordinates of the intersection point of two 0.5mm thick cables, automatically excluding the central area and extracting only the data from the upper and lower intersection points. This solution can be installed at production line inspection stations to monitor the integrity of cable braiding structures in real time, providing a reliable basis for subsequent automatic positioning, error correction, and visual inspection.

Industrial manufacturing enterprises have implemented a cable braiding inspection system based on SingTown Technology's OpenMV smart camera, achieving cable crossover point detection.
The system installs high-resolution cameras above the production line inspection area, securing them in place to capture real-time images of cable surface textures through high-resolution lenses.
The captured images are automatically identified by the built-in system using AI machine vision algorithms: by combining edge detection and geometric fitting techniques, the system can accurately recognise the intersection area of two 0.5mm thick lines on the cable surface.
Utilising the morphological operations and coordinate extraction functions of the OpenMV module, the system can swiftly determine the positions of intersections, retaining only the effective upper and lower endpoints, and outputting their precise coordinate data to the control system in real time.
In dynamic production environments, this system demonstrates high stability and strong anti-interference capabilities, achieving millisecond-level responses even under closely spaced installation conditions.
The identified cross-coordinate data can be used in processes such as automatic adjustment of cable winding angles, correction of positional deviations, and defect detection, significantly enhancing inspection efficiency and product consistency.
SingTown Technology's OpenMV smart camera, with its compact design and robust computer vision algorithms, possesses strong edge deployment capabilities. It provides a flexible, high-precision, and cost-effective intelligent solution for industrial automation inspection.
