At public beaches and outdoor settings, timely detection of plastic waste like water bottles is a vital component of environmental protection and cleanliness management. However, relying exclusively on conventional manual inspections is inefficient and susceptible to missing small debris. To tackle this, SingTown Technology has launched an AI smart camera solution built on the OpenMV platform, leveraging machine vision and computer vision technologies to enable high-precision automatic identification of water bottles on beaches.
The system captures real-time beach images through cameras, and AI algorithms analyze the target's shape, color, and texture features to accurately identify plastic water bottles, mineral water bottles, and other similar containers. The image recognition technology can handle light reflections, sand occlusion, and complex background interference, ensuring stable and reliable detection results.
The recognition results can directly trigger the cleaning robotic arm or provide visual monitoring data, enabling rapid response and automated cleaning. The OpenMV smart camera features low power consumption, compact size, and high frame rate, offering the advantage of edge deployment. It can be flexibly integrated into unmanned inspection robots, fixed monitoring points, or mobile cleaning platforms, achieving round-the-clock real-time monitoring without relying on cloud services or external computers.
