In the realm of intelligent security and property management, real-time monitoring of pedestrian flow serves as a critical metric for safety supervision and operational analysis. SingTown Technology's AI smart camera solution, developed on the OpenMV platform, leverages advanced computer vision and image recognition algorithms to enable real-time people counting and dynamic passenger flow monitoring.
The system automatically identifies human silhouettes, head-shoulder features, and movement trajectories in video frames to accurately determine the number of individuals. Edge-side IA can also effectively distinguish between stationary and moving human targets, maintaining stable recognition performance in complex scenarios such as lighting variations, occlusions, and crowded gatherings.
This system's edge AI can independently carry out recognition and analysis, and supports users in conducting targeted model training. Therefore, the system can be deployed at the edge in various environments such as shopping malls, MTR stations, conference halls, and residential estate entrances, enabling round-the-clock pedestrian flow statistics and trend analysis. Compared to traditional infrared counting devices, the SingTown intelligent camera solution not only offers higher recognition accuracy but also provides visual data, such as crowd density distribution and movement direction, while supporting multi-camera collaborative statistics. The recognition data can also be uploaded in real-time to the cloud or local servers for security alerts, passenger flow control, or energy consumption optimisation.
