In the sorting centres of express logistics, the high-speed and accurate identification of the first digit of the express tracking number is crucial for automated sorting systems. Traditional manual scanning is inefficient and prone to errors. SingTown Technology's AI smart camera solution, based on the OpenMV platform, achieves precise identification and automated sorting of the first digit of the express tracking number through machine vision and computer vision technologies.

The system captures express delivery slip images in real-time through the camera, utilises AI algorithms to analyse the morphology, size, and position of digit strings, automatically locates the longest digit string on each slip, and extracts the first digit. Computer vision technology can handle variations in lighting, differences in printed fonts, and tilted or curved surfaces of the slips, ensuring stable and accurate recognition results.

Upon completion of identification, the system can directly transmit the leading digit information to the robotic arm or sorting device, enabling automated diversion.
