In scenarios such as document management, bill entry, archive digitisation, and educational assistance, Optical Character Recognition (OCR) serves as a critical component for achieving automated information processing. The AI smart camera solution developed by SingTown Technology, based on the OpenMV platform, enables real-time detection and recognition of text on books, papers, photographs, and printed images.
After the system captures images using the camera, the AI algorithm automatically locates text regions, extracts character contours and key features, and adapts to recognise different fonts, sizes, and printing qualities. Whether the text is on smooth reflective paper, tilted pages, or in shadowed environments, OpenMV maintains high recognition accuracy. The system supports multilingual recognition, including Chinese and English, and can undergo algorithm training for different scenarios to meet diverse application requirements.
