The solution integrates an intelligent vision module into the self-service borrowing and returning terminals. When students place books in the recognition area, the camera captures images in real time and utilises computer vision and image recognition technologies to automatically detect the book's cover features, barcode, or ISBN code.

The system utilises image segmentation, OCR text recognition, and template matching algorithms to swiftly identify books. It then compares the recognition results with the book database to complete the registration for borrowing or returning.

On-device AI algorithms can adapt to various lighting conditions and intelligently correct issues such as reflections, cover colour differences, and blurred QR codes.

Upon completion of identification, the OpenMV module uploads the data to the library management system via the network interface, enabling automatic registration, inventory updates, and synchronisation of user borrowing status.

The system also supports simultaneous recognition and automatic inventory of multiple books, applicable to various scenarios such as library self-service areas and shared book corners in teaching buildings.
