In waste classification and environmental management, the color of garbage bags serves as a crucial identifier for distinguishing waste types. However, manual sorting suffers from low efficiency and inconsistent accuracy. SingTown Technology has introduced an AI smart camera solution based on the OpenMV platform, leveraging machine vision and image recognition technology to achieve high-precision identification and intelligent sorting of garbage bag colors.
The system captures real-time images of garbage bags through the camera, and the AI algorithm analyzes color features, brightness, and morphology to quickly classify white, black, red, and other colored garbage bags. Upon completion of recognition, signals can be directly output to the automatic sorting robotic arm or management system, enabling automatic categorization of garbage bags by color.
The OpenMV intelligent camera features high sensitivity, low power consumption, and a compact size, supporting edge deployment for long-term stable operation at community waste collection points, park environmental stations, or industrial waste processing lines. The system supports custom model training, enabling optimized recognition of garbage bags under varying materials, lighting conditions, or mixed backgrounds to ensure classification accuracy.
