GithubAs the issues of cervical spondylosis and lumbar fatigue caused by sedentary office work become increasingly prominent, healthy and intelligent office methods have emerged as a new industry trend. Traditional height-adjustable desks often rely on manual or timed adjustments, failing to perceive the user's actual posture and sedentary state, with limited reminder methods. To address this, smart office equipment manufacturers have adopted SingTown Technology's OpenMV smart camera to build a machine vision-based intelligent desk system.
This system utilizes AI image recognition and human posture detection technology to monitor the user's sitting posture at the desk in real-time. When it detects poor postures such as slouching, hunching, or leaning to one side, the system automatically issues a reminder.
At the same time, when the user remains seated for longer than the set duration (e.g., 45 minutes), the system will automatically activate the electric lifting mechanism, gradually raising the desktop to guide the user into a standing work mode, thereby effectively reducing the health risks associated with prolonged sitting.
This solution requires precise identification, rapid response, smooth control, and adaptability to various office environments and individual differences.

Intelligent office equipment manufacturers have developed a smart desk posture detection system based on SingTown Technology's OpenMV intelligent camera. By integrating AI image recognition, human pose estimation, behavior analysis, and automatic height adjustment control technologies, the system provides intelligent health management solutions for office environments.
The system secures the OpenMV camera above or in front of the office desk, using a wide-angle lens to capture real-time images of the user's sitting posture.
AI algorithms determine changes in the posture of the head, shoulders, and spine through key point recognition and geometric angle calculation, identifying whether the user is sitting upright, slouching, or leaning forward.
When poor posture is detected, the system will alert the user to adjust promptly through a buzzer, voice announcement, or desktop indicator light.
The system can also spontaneously assist sedentary users in standing work: the built-in sedentary detection logic calculates the user's continuous sitting duration. Upon exceeding the set time, it automatically outputs a control signal to the lifting motor, gradually raising the desk to standing height and reminding the user to stand up and move around.
With the automatic exposure compensation, real-time recognition, and low-power operation features of SingTown Technology's OpenMV, the system can operate stably under varying lighting and body size conditions.
The test results show that the system achieves an attitude detection accuracy of over 96% within a distance of 0.6 meters, a lifting response time of less than 1 second, and a sedentary reminder error of less than 3 minutes.
This solution, built upon SingTown Technology's OpenMV intelligent camera, is widely applicable in areas such as smart office desks, corporate health management systems, and remote work equipment. It enables AI machine vision to genuinely empower occupational health management, providing professionals with a scientific and intelligent healthy office experience.
