Fatigue driving poses a significant risk to traffic safety. To address this, SingTown Technology has introduced an intelligent fatigue driving detection solution. Leveraging its OpenMV platform and AI smart cameras, combined with machine vision and computer vision technologies, the solution achieves precise monitoring of drivers' eye closure states, thereby preventing accidents.
The system employs cameras to acquire facial imagery of the operator, where artificial intelligence algorithms assess the configuration, luminance, and occlusion of the ocular region in real-time to ascertain blink frequency and extended periods of eye closure. Upon identification of atypical eye occlusion or indicators of fatigue, the system is capable of promptly initiating auditory, visual, or tactile notifications to prompt the operator to pause or re-engage attentional focus.
The OpenMV intelligent camera features low power consumption, compact size, and high frame rate. Its edge deployment advantage allows the system to be embedded in vehicle monitoring systems, cockpits, or assisted driving devices, enabling all-weather real-time monitoring without reliance on cloud services. Detection remains unaffected even in cases of unstable or lost signals. The algorithm demonstrates robustness against variations in lighting, glare from glasses, or different facial angles, ensuring stable recognition in complex driving environments.
