GithubSingTown's intelligent camera system based on OpenMV can identify whether a fan is in a rotating state and calculate its rotational speed. Through AI and machine vision algorithms, the system captures blade motion trajectories in real time, analyzes rotation frequency, and outputs fan start-stop status and speed levels. It is suitable for various scenarios such as industrial monitoring, energy-saving control, and experimental testing.

In industrial sites or equipment management, accurately determining the operational status and speed levels of fans is a crucial aspect of equipment safety and energy-saving management. SingTown Technology's intelligent camera solution, based on the OpenMV platform, integrates edge-side AI image recognition and computer vision algorithms to achieve non-contact, real-time monitoring of fan operation.
The system continuously captures images of the fan through the camera, analyzing the motion blur, angle changes, and periodic brightness characteristics of the blades. When periodic motion trajectories are detected, the system can automatically determine that the fan is in a rotating state and estimate the rotational speed level based on the rate of change between frames. Unlike traditional contact sensors, this solution enables non-contact detection without requiring any modifications to the fan itself.
The system can stably identify fans of different sizes and colors, unaffected by ambient light (such as in factory workshops, outdoor equipment points, inside ventilation systems, etc.). Additionally, the system supports customizable thresholds to distinguish between low-speed, normal, and overspeed operating states.
The SingTown intelligent camera supports high-speed sampling and edge-side AI localized computing, featuring edge deployment capabilities, making it particularly suitable for scenarios such as fan units, cooling towers, experimental devices, and smart homes. Integrated with control systems, it can automatically issue alarms or adjust power when fans experience abnormal stoppage or overspeed, achieving the dual objectives of safety and energy efficiency.
SingTown integrates AI and machine vision technology into daily equipment monitoring, making the OpenMV smart camera an efficient embedded visual perception core for intelligent surveillance and industrial automation.
