Every year, heartbreaking safety incidents caused by children being left in vehicles continue to occur. To address this critical social issue, SingTown Technology has developed an AI smart camera solution based on the OpenMV platform. Utilising computer vision and image recognition algorithms, it enables intelligent detection of children left in vehicles and provides safety alerts.
The system monitors the vehicle interior in real-time via cameras, utilising AI algorithms to analyse human characteristics in the footage, such as head shape, body size, posture, and subtle movements. Even when an infant is asleep, the system can detect vital signs through chest and abdominal movements, slight motions, or infrared thermal signals. If the vehicle is turned off while an infant remains inside, the system immediately triggers audible and visual alarms and can send notifications to the owner's mobile device via the network.
The OpenMV intelligent camera supports multimodal perception and can be integrated with temperature sensors and vehicle control units to enable active safety responses in the event of abnormal environmental temperatures. Edge AI can be trained and optimised based on different infant body types and seat configurations, thereby enhancing recognition accuracy in a targeted manner.
This solution features a compact size and low power consumption, enabling it to be embedded into roof modules or rear-view mirrors. It is suitable for various scenarios such as smart vehicles, infant safety seats, and vehicle networking terminals. Its edge deployment capability ensures independent recognition even in cases of abnormal or lost signals.
