Fatigue driving poses a significant risk to traffic safety. To address this, SingTown Technology has introduced an intelligent fatigue driving detection solution. Leveraging its OpenMV platform and AI smart cameras, combined with machine vision and computer vision technologies, the solution achieves precise monitoring of drivers' eye closure states, thereby preventing accidents.
The system utilises cameras to capture facial images of the driver, with AI algorithms analysing the morphology, brightness, and closure of the eye area in real time to determine blink frequency and prolonged eye closure duration. Upon detecting abnormal eye closure or fatigue signals, the system can immediately trigger auditory, visual, or vibrational alerts to remind the driver to rest or refocus attention.
The OpenMV intelligent camera features low power consumption, compact size, and a high frame rate. Its edge deployment advantage allows the system to be embedded in vehicle monitoring systems, cockpits, or assisted driving devices, enabling all-weather real-time monitoring without reliance on cloud services. Detection remains unaffected even in cases of unstable or lost signals. The algorithm demonstrates robustness against variations in lighting, glare from glasses, or different facial angles, ensuring stable recognition in complex driving environments.
