Driving under fatigue presents a substantial hazard to road safety. In response, SingTown Technology has launched an intelligent fatigue driving detection system. Utilizing its OpenMV platform and AI-enabled smart cameras, alongside machine vision and computer vision technologies, the system ensures accurate monitoring of drivers' eye closure status, effectively preventing potential accidents.
The system employs cameras to capture facial images of the driver, utilizing AI algorithms to analyze the morphology, brightness, and closure of the eye area in real time, thereby determining blink frequency and prolonged eye closure duration. Upon detecting abnormal eye closure or fatigue signals, the system can promptly activate auditory, visual, or vibrational alerts to remind the driver to rest or regain focus.
The OpenMV intelligent camera features low power consumption, compact size, and high frame rate. Its edge deployment advantage allows the system to be embedded in vehicle monitoring systems, cockpits, or assisted driving devices, enabling all-weather real-time monitoring without reliance on cloud services. Detection remains unaffected even in cases of unstable or lost signals. The algorithm demonstrates robustness against variations in lighting, glare from glasses, or different facial angles, ensuring stable recognition in complex driving environments.
