In grain processing and food safety inspection, cracks and mould spots on the surface of rice grains are key indicators for determining quality and edibility. However, rice grains are small and numerous, making traditional manual inspection not only inefficient but also prone to missed detections.
SingTown's AI smart camera solution, built on the OpenMV platform, utilises machine vision and computer vision technologies to achieve high-precision automatic recognition of tiny cracks and mould spots on the surface of rice grains.
The system captures images of rice grains using high-speed cameras, and AI algorithms analyse the texture, colour, and morphology of the rice grain surfaces to accurately identify minute cracks, mould spots, and abnormal discolorations. The image recognition technology can handle variations in lighting, overlapping rice grains, and differences among varieties, ensuring stable and reliable detection results.
The recognition results can directly link with the automatic sorting device to remove unqualified rice grains, thereby improving processing quality and food safety standards.
