GithubWith the increasing prominence of issues such as cervical spondylosis and lumbar fatigue caused by sedentary office work, healthy and intelligent office methods have become a new industry trend. Traditional height-adjustable desks often rely on manual or timed adjustments, failing to perceive the user's actual posture and sedentary state, with limited reminder methods. To address this, smart office equipment manufacturers have adopted SingTown's OpenMV smart camera to build a machine vision-based intelligent desk system.
This system utilises AI image recognition and human posture detection technology to monitor the user's sitting posture at the desk in real time. When poor postures such as slouching, hunching, or leaning are detected, the system automatically issues a reminder.
Simultaneously, when the user remains seated continuously for more than the set duration (e.g., 45 minutes), the system automatically activates the electric lifting mechanism to gradually raise the desktop, guiding the user into a standing work mode, thereby effectively reducing the health risks associated with prolonged sitting.
This solution requires precise identification, rapid response, smooth control, and adaptability to various office environments and individual differences.

Intelligent office equipment manufacturers have developed a smart desk posture detection system based on SingTown Technology's OpenMV intelligent camera. By integrating AI image recognition, human pose estimation, behavior analysis, and automatic height adjustment control technologies, the system provides intelligent health management solutions for office environments.
The system secures the OpenMV camera above or in front of the office desk, capturing real-time images of the user's sitting posture through a wide-angle lens.
AI algorithms determine changes in the posture of the head, shoulders, and spine through key point recognition and geometric angle calculation, identifying whether the user is sitting upright, slouching, or leaning forward.
When poor posture is detected, the system alerts the user to adjust promptly via a buzzer, voice announcement, or desktop indicator light.
The system can also autonomously assist sedentary users in transitioning to standing work: the built-in sedentary detection logic calculates the user's continuous sitting duration. Upon exceeding the set time, it automatically sends a control signal to the lifting motor, gradually raising the desk to standing height and reminding the user to stand up and move around.
Leveraging SingTown Technology OpenMV's automatic exposure compensation, real-time recognition, and low-power operation features, the system can operate stably under varying lighting and body size conditions.
The test results indicate that the system achieves an attitude detection accuracy of over 96% within a distance of 0.6 meters, a lifting response time of less than 1 second, and a sedentary reminder error of less than 3 minutes.
Based on SingTown's OpenMV intelligent camera, this solution is widely applicable in areas such as smart office desks, corporate health management systems, and remote work equipment. It enables AI machine vision to genuinely empower occupational health management, providing professionals with a scientific and intelligent healthy office experience.
