GithubSingTown Technology's AI intelligent camera system based on OpenMV can be used for screw hole identification and drilling detection of industrial parts. Through machine vision and image recognition algorithms, the system accurately determines whether circular holes, unopened holes, or abnormal defects exist on product surfaces, enabling automatic sorting and quality control. It is widely applied in manufacturing, assembly, and inspection production lines.

In precision manufacturing and component inspection, determining whether a product has been drilled or whether the screw hole morphology meets standards is a critical step, impacting assembly efficiency and quality. SingTown Technology's AI smart camera, based on OpenMV, integrates machine vision with computer vision algorithms to develop an embedded vision system capable of automatically identifying screw hole features on product surfaces.
After the camera captures the surface image of the workpiece, image recognition algorithms are employed to analyse shape, grayscale, edge, and reflective characteristics, accurately determining the presence of screw holes, their centering, and whether the aperture meets standards. For parts that are visually similar but structurally different (such as solid discs and hollow nuts), the system can automatically distinguish and classify them, preventing assembly misuse.
AI algorithms can be customised for training, supporting the detection of components with different specifications, materials, and gloss levels. Integrated with the conveyor system, the recognition results can be directly output to robotic arms or sorting devices, enabling fully automated sorting and quality screening.
The OpenMV intelligent camera features a compact size and low power consumption, allowing it to be flexibly embedded into production line equipment or inspection stations for edge deployment, making it suitable for complex industrial environments with limited conditions.
