GithubThe door is not closed; any incident would constitute a major accident. Manual inspections cannot adequately cover the frequent changes in door status. OpenMV enables continuous system monitoring of the door’s status.

If the entrances to server rooms, electrical distribution rooms, and residential units remain open for extended periods, this may lead to unauthorised entry, equipment damage, theft, or even electric shock—posing significant safety risks in operations and maintenance management.
Traditional methods rely primarily on manual inspections or access control log reviews, making it difficult to promptly detect frequent changes in door status, with issues often only identified after the fact.
Based on SingTown’s OpenMV smart camera, the access control status can be continuously and automatically monitored visually.
After the camera is deployed at the entrance, OpenMV performs door-object detection on-device and analyses the door panel’s angle, degree of opening, and morphological changes to determine whether the door is closed, partially open, or fully open. Time-based rules can also be applied to distinguish between brief, normal openings and prolonged, abnormal openings.
When the system detects that a door has remained open for an extended period or has been opened outside permitted hours, it can instantly generate an alert on the edge device and trigger integrated responses with access control systems, operations and maintenance platforms, or on-duty personnel to enable automated resolution.
As the decision-making logic runs directly on the camera’s edge device, the system operates stably and responds rapidly—making it highly suitable for environments such as server rooms and electrical distribution rooms, where continuity and reliability are critically important. OpenMV elevates infrastructure operations and maintenance from “manual inspection” to “continuous sensing and proactive alerting.”
