Utilising machine vision and image recognition algorithms, the system detects flame characteristics, determines the location and scope of the fire source, and drives vehicles or robots to autonomously approach the fire point for extinguishing operations. The perilous and sudden nature of fires makes escape extremely difficult, making early detection and rapid response crucial for both life safety and firefighting efforts.
To this end, SingTown Technology offers an AI smart camera solution based on OpenMV, designed to achieve efficient early fire detection and alarm functionality. This solution utilises computer vision and image recognition algorithms for real-time flame detection and localisation, empowering mobile fire suppression systems with embedded vision capabilities.
When the system's camera captures spectral characteristics and brightness changes, the edge AI will swiftly identify the flame's colour, flickering frequency, and morphological features, thereby distinguishing real fire sources from reflective interference. Once the system determines the presence of a flame, it will automatically calculate the fire source coordinates and issue control commands, enabling the firefighting vehicle or robot to autonomously adjust its direction and accelerate towards the fire point.
Upon reaching the designated location, the system can coordinate with spraying devices or fire suppression modules to achieve automatic fire extinguishing. It monitors the extinguishing effect in real time via cameras to determine whether the fire is completely extinguished. The AI model can also adapt to different types of flames (such as alcohol lamp flames, open flames, arc fires, etc.) through sample learning, enhancing recognition practicality and accuracy.
This solution adopts an edge deployment architecture, featuring fast response, low power consumption, and easy scalability, making it particularly suitable for applications such as laboratory safety monitoring, warehouse fire prevention, and unmanned inspection vehicles. With the OpenMV smart camera as its core, SingTown deeply integrates edge AI and machine vision technologies, endowing devices with the autonomous capability to "see fire and extinguish fire," providing a flexible and efficient machine vision solution for fire prevention and rescue operations.
